w2: What is eczema + Weird food allergies
There is a huge misconception that eczema is a condition that should be spoken about with a dermatologist. Truth is, eczema is much deeper of an issue than the skin. Eczema is an autoimmune disorder that stems from leaky gut, immune system imbalances, and at times an overworked liver.
Why is the internet crawling with information about what to eat and not to eat for eczema? Why do some websites say no avocados and others think potatoes are killers? This is because in stage 1 people often have a broad range of….well, strange allergies. Leaky gut allows food particles to get into the blood stream which then alerts the immune system there is an intruder. Whatever food particles get through the intestine lining are the ones you develop an allergy to. These allergies will only last for about a month or two.
WHAT IS LEAKY GUT
Vocabulary: intestine, immune system, cells, gut lining, tight junction, protein
IMBALANCED IMMUNE SYSTEM
Vocabulary: TH1, TH2, curcumin, resveratrol
To expand on this concept I want you all to understand that autoimmune disorders fall into two categories.
